Open MLB Game Center. Read pitchers, lineups, pitch matchups, and contact metrics for one MLB game.
Start with the game and sample
Choose the slate date and matchup. Check the starting pitchers and batting order, then select the season/sample context offered on the page. A lineup or pitcher change can materially change the matchup you were researching.
Read the pitcher and lineup
Review the pitcher profile, including the available ERA, WHIP, strikeout, handedness, and pitch-arsenal data. Then inspect the opposing lineup. Read contact quality and production measures together rather than sorting by one favorable metric.
Use Standard for the fuller stat table and Matchup for the matchup-oriented cards where available. Expand a batter to inspect supporting pitch splits, head-to-head history, and zone context.
Use pitch and handedness filters
Select relevant pitch types and the opposing pitcher's hand. A hitter's overall results can differ from the narrower matchup sample. Check the sample after filtering; a very small split is not strong evidence by itself.
Example: a hitter looks strong overall but has limited history against the pitch types this starter throws most. Keep the limited sample visible in your reasoning rather than treating the overall number as the matchup estimate.
Next step and troubleshooting
Use Prop Center or Hit Rates for the exact player market, then compare its line and price. If a lineup, split, or pitch metric is missing, treat it as unavailable. Confirm the date and matchup before reporting a missing game. This Game Center is separate from the cross-sport Games slate.
